R & R Presents March & April flyer.

Here is the March / April flyer for R & R Presents. May will mark our first year celebrations and myself and Raheem are working on something special for you the massive that support us each month. I'm also still on the look out for demos from local DJ's / MC's. Can you believe, I haven't received one single demo from anybody since advertising it on recent flyers. What's going on dj / mc crew? R & R Presents want to bring through as much new talent as possible for 2006, so bring along your demos on the night.

Big Bad Blueprint! (February 22nd 2006).

Bwoy! Last night, what a show. It was vibes from beginning to end and most importantly, exciting to know that such quality music is being made within the UKG scene right now. Things seem to be taking a turn for the better, with many more releases actually hitting shelves compared to last year. Big up all those grafting hard right now. I'm sure peoples hard work and dedication will be rewarded in due course. Keep at it!

Back to last night's show, passing through first were Dexplicit and former Architect's vocalist Nana, who first teamed up last year on R&G anthem 'One Night Stand', which also featured bars from Fumin and Baby Blue. They came up to the show to give us the worldwide exclusive first plays on two brand new vocal slammers, which look set to do big things for DXP Recordings and the scene in 2006. The first track we heard was Adrenaline which features a smoking guest spot from DNB legend Skibadee. For me, this is the next level for Dexplicit who switches the track into the classic old skool 'Tour De France' tune as Skibba starts spitting his verses. Baad! Over all a blazing performance from both Nana & Skibba. The second track to be aired was the brand new vocal version to bassline anthem of 2005 'Bullacake', now retitled 'Lose Control'. With 'Bullacake' being such a big instrumental, I couldn't picture how a vocal would sound laced over the top, but after hearing the results I can safely say this is going to be huge. Definitely one for the ladies crew. Watch out for both releases coming via Dexplicit's DXP Recordings in 2006.

Our guest mix came from rising 44 / Bassline producer Charlie Sezz. This Kent based producer /dj has been pricking up ears of UKG listeners for a while with his hot productions that first and foremost seem to be crafted with the dance floor in mind. He has just released his latest ep on Riddler Dubz (a subsidiary of Riddler Records). This phat 4 tracker features 'Oi Oi', a tune which was originally made as a personal dubplate for Riddler's DJ Domino, but after dropping it in his sets at northern nights, Domino's phone began to bling with requests for the track from such scene leaders as Shaun 'Banger' Scott, who were still wanting to play it even though it said Domino's name through out. When big DJ's are willing to play a tune in their sets with another DJ's name all over it, that surely is a sign of a big tune.

In the last half hour of the show Muzik Street's D&G came by with another hot exclusive. He dropped the brand new D&G (vs) Dezz Jones remix of 'Paleface ft. Jade Smalls - Lady Like'. This version is a sharp contrast to the sweet Robin S 'Show Me Love' inspired original. All I can say is the bassline is absolutely disgusting. This is sure to tear down any rave. This mix along with the original and R&G style Flukes mix will be contained on the vinyl which is due to drop on Muzik Street in the coming weeks.
